Preserve Your Memories Here!

Our Mission Statement

We aim to make your video transfer needs smooth and streamlined. It’s as simple as sending your media and filling out our order form.

Whether you’re looking for a perfect gift, or looking to preserve your memories, we can take your tapes and slides and turn them into a format that works for you. You’ll be amazed at how good your they’ll look.

Home media is a unique snapshot of history. Please preserve it. Its worth it.

Why Now?

As time goes on, film and tape degrades. Even archival institutions have to work very hard to preserve their materials. Most basements, attics, or closets are not temperature or humidity controlled (not ideal). This means that most family videos have been kept in non ideal conditions for some time.

Mold, sticky-shed syndrome, and vinegar syndrome are all contributors to film and tape degradation, and they are all issues that make immediate transfer essential.

We will do our best to recover damaged and decaying materials.

What Can We Do?

Analog Archival specializes in digitization of home media, ranging from tape formats like VHS and betamax to photo slides and document digitization. If you’re interested in knowing the range of formats we work with, please look in the respective section.

No matter the format, we will give you an output that you can access. DVDs and flash drive files are by far the most common.

We can capture at a an archival quality, which will give a file size of around 30 GB/hour for footage, or can work out a happy medium between bitrate and file size. If you’re curious about what we are using and our workflow, please feel free to ask!

Why Us?

We care. There are other services available for video transfer, from many large companies. But with a large operation, there is not the sense of care, nor the guarantee that your memories will actually get hands-on attention to preserve it in the best quality imaginable.

With tape in particular, we are looking to preserve as much of the era as possible. With the advent of camera phones, precious memories are being recorded at an impressive rate, everything is being captured.

But in the era of home videos, that broad spectrum capturing was not happening with the same coverage. Birthday parties, church sermons, underground rock concerts, or weddings were most likely filmed with a single camera. A single copy.

All of these events are culturally and historically relevant and valuable. These tapes truly represent the personal and unique spectrum of human experience, and all should be preserved. Home video and films are a gift and a window into the precious past.

Let us help you recover it.
